For centuries the organ has been the primary instrument of worship in the church. It offers comfort to the grieving, joy to celebrations, and majesty and glory to God. The Second Vatican Council states, “The pipe organ is to be held in high esteem in the Latin Church, since it is its traditional instrument, the sound of which can add a wonderful splendor to the Church’s ceremonies and powerfully lift up men’s minds to God and higher things.”
This instrument is the result of long effort and planning and of the gifts of many who love the beauty thatthe organ can bring to our worship. I am grateful to all who contributed, for all who are remembered throughgifts, and for all who will be touched by this gift.
The entire renovation project here at Sacred Heart has indeed been challenging and rewarding. I sincerely thank all of you for your time, treasure, and talent that you have brought to our parish to make it truly visually and aurally beautiful.
In Christ’s Service,
Rev. Thomas Botheroyd
