The Religious Education Department at Sacred Heart Catholic Church offers classes for children in Grades 1 through 8. The classes are designed to help children develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to learn about the Catholic faith. The program aims to support parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith and to prepare children for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
Classes are available on Monday or Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
The curriculum includes various prayer forms in the Catholic tradition, Eucharistic Adoration, and education in the doctrine of the Catholic faith. The goal is to help children grow as disciples and live their lives in accordance with the teachings of Christ.

Families interested in the Religious Education program must be registered parishioners. To register as a parishioner, contact the Parish Office. After registering as a parishioner, you can contact the Religious Education Office at (630) 627- 0687 x400 to register your children for religious education classes.
Please have ready a copy of your child's baptismal certificate when registering. Registration takes place from April through August. The Religious Education Office is closed in July. Classes begin mid-September and run through April.General Links

Religious Education at Sacred Heart Catholic Church supports parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith as they grow into disciples.
Our program is designed to promote a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ and to instill in children a desire to model Christ in their lives and to live as one with Him in thought, word, and deed. It is designed for students in Grades 1 through 8 and prepares children for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
As the Catechism of the Catholic Church states:Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child's earliest years. This already happens when family members help one another to grow in faith by the witness of a Christian life in keeping with the Gospel. Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God.35 The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is a privileged place for the catechesis of children and parents.
